Chinese Tutor Hong Kong Pricing

Chinese tutoring rates in Hong Kong range from HK$200 to HK$2,000 per hour, depending on the tutor’s experience, qualifications, subject level, and lesson format.

• Entry-level or student tutors may charge around HK$350/hr • Certified private tutors typically around HK$600/hr • Specialist or exam-focused tutors (e.g. IB, HSK, corporate) can charge HK$700–2,000/hr

At Mandarin & Cantonese Tutor HK, our standard rates are HK$400–600/hr for private tutoring, and HK$250/hr per person for group lessons — with discounts for packages.

• A travel fee applies for in-person lessons: – Central: HK$50 – MTR Areas: HK$100 – Non-MTR Areas: HK$150

• Learning materials (digital or printed) are not included in the hourly rate.

• Private tutoring rates are fixed.

• Group or corporate training packages may be negotiable depending on group size, location, and number of hours booked.

• Lessons can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.

• Missed sessions without notice may be counted as used.

• We recommend keeping a regular schedule when possible.

• Refunds are not available once the first full lesson has been completed.

• We encourage new students to start with a trial lesson (HK$400).

• Unused package hours remain valid for 12 months and may be shared or transferred.

• All packages are valid for 12 months.

• You may share unused hours with a family member or transfer them to a friend if needed.

Yes. You can mix Mandarin and Cantonese sessions within the same package — just let us know your preference when booking.

Yes. You can request a specific tutor, depending on availability.

If you’re not fully satisfied, we’ll work with you to find a better fit based on your learning goals and preferences.

Group Chinese tutoring typically includes 2 to 4 students for better interaction and personal support.

If you prefer a larger group or want to form your own, we’re happy to arrange that.

• Switching from group to private depends on availability and will require a separate booking, as group pricing is not transferable.
