Cantonese Class Prices in Hong Kong: 2026 Examples
These are selected published offers, not every package available from each school. Compare group fees with group fees and private tuition with private tuition. Duration, included materials, registration charges and discounts can change the comparison; confirm the actual package and availability before booking.

Our group package is HK$300 per person per 60 minutes. Digital lesson materials are provided; any textbook or printing costs are confirmed before payment. Other Berlitz offers: its scheduled online group course is HK$2,250 for five 80-minute teaching sessions (about HK$338/hour), with materials included. Its selector also lists an in-person group starter package at HK$2,250 for 10 units. The page separately describes 45-minute units and general materials charges, so confirm the unit duration and inclusions for that specific package before comparing it with a 10-hour course.
New Concept Mandarin’s Central group course is listed at HK$10,560 for 32 hours (HK$330/hour), with advertised discounts of 10% for two participants or 15% for three. Applied to the stated fee, those are HK$297/hour and HK$280.50/hour. The page shows June 2026 intake dates, so confirm the current intake, fee and discount eligibility. Our tuition is not necessarily lower than every discounted offer.
Before joining a group, ask how many students will attend, how levels are matched, how much speaking practice you will get and what happens if a teacher or class is cancelled. Those details help you judge the course beyond its advertised price.

A 50-minute lesson is shorter than a 60-minute lesson. To compare the same amount of teaching time, multiply the 50-minute price by 1.2: for example, US$25 for 50 minutes is equivalent to US$30 per 60 minutes. Course Planning, Booking and Attendance
The number of lessons you need depends on your starting point, goals, lesson frequency and practice outside class. Your tutor will discuss a suitable plan; a 10-hour package is not a promise of completing a level or becoming fluent.

Group booking: confirm a suitable level match, tutor and shared timetable before paying. Payment is required seven days in advance to secure a confirmed class. Missed group classes are non-refundable and cannot be individually rescheduled; late arrival counts as attended time. If the tutor cancels, we arrange a credit or make-up class. Private Lessons for Group Students
Occasional private add-on lessons for group students: HK$450/hour, without buying a full private package. Standard single private lesson: HK$650/hour.
Standard private packages: 10 hours HK$5,500 (HK$550/hour); 20 hours HK$10,000 (HK$500/hour); 30 hours HK$13,500 (HK$450/hour). These packages are valid for 12 months. Private trials and single-hour lessons are valid for one month. Group packages and private lessons are booked separately; confirm the group package period and schedule before payment.
Private lessons can provide extra practice or individual support alongside a group course. Travel charges apply to visits away from our Central office.
